Hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, THE PEACE PROJECT arrived fresh and uncharted in 2009. The band, launched lead singer/songwriter and keyboardist Peace Ike, came together to create a style that had yet to make an impact on the Pittsburgh music scene. Having studied classical piano from the age of 4, the Nigerian-American song-writer began, as a young girl, combining her formal training with “tell it like it is lyrics” about life, love and purpose.
In 2010, Ike completed her first self-titled ‘short length’ album, producing situational and relatable songs with an upbeat melody that most listeners will appreciate. She combines graceful piano with rhythmic bass, smooth sax, percussive drum beat and electric guitar to create a rhythmically driven fusion of soul/R&B/pop and rock. Taking a contemporary approach to music genres that have been stifled and outdated in most recent years, THE PEACE PROJECT introduces us to soul/rock/R&B fusion of the 21st century.
A jack of all trades, Ike is an accomplished percussionist and has played in opening acts for JILL HENNESSY, DWELE, MATTHEW GOOD and BUTTERFLY BOUCHER. She has also drummed on the LILITH FAIR TOUR and on NBC 10′s ‘The 10 Show’.
Furthermore, in 2010 Ike graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, and practices as a full time therapist alongside her music career.
Ike’s strong vocals have landed her a place as a background vocalist in opening acts for LIFEHOUSE, BONE THUGS N’ HARMONY, KID CUDI, WIZ KHALIFA and JASON MRAZ.
As a singer-songwriter, Ike has received notable mentions in The PITTSBURGH POST GAZETTE, The PITTSBURGH CITY PAPER, and an album concert review in The PITTSBURGH SCENE. She has also performed under the sponsorship of WARNER and UNIVERSAL . In 2010, Ike performed at The THREE RIVERS ARTS FESTIVAL, sharing an event and stage with INGRID MICHAELSON, PATTY GRIFFIN and opening for GUSTER.

Peace Ike recently relocated to Philadelphia and can be seen performing solo, in trio form, and with her full band THE PEACE PROJECT.
